Happy New Year!

We wish everyone a happy and safe New Year, and thank you all for your support in 2012.  We were able to save over 100 animals this year through the support of wonderful people like you!

Some highlights of our 2012:

  • We participated in 3 Animal Rescue Corp large scale seizures, including Operation Sweethearts, Operation Freedom, and were the first responders assisting in Operation Broken Chain.
  • We hosted and sponsored our first Disaster Animal Response Team class in cooperation with TEMA and the State Veterinarian's Office
  • We expanded Noah's Ark Society to include equine and livestock rescue
  • We were able to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in dire, need, and at great expense, such as Grace, Peaches, Blackie and Mazie as a direct result of support of our fundraisers and your donations.
  • The Noah's Ark Society volunteer base has almost doubled in size!
  • We expanded from Nashville only to adding a second branch near Toledo and have started a New England NAS branch.
Looking forward to 2013 we are excited to announce some great news:
  • We are hosting a second Disaster Animal Response Team Training in March 2013 - if you attended the prior class or attend the upcoming DART training then we will be contacting about an exciting opportunity to become a first responder on our Animal Criminal Investigation Team that will be operating state wide!
  • Our Spring Membership drive will have an opportunity to win tickets to Walt Disney World!
  • Noah's Ark Society is actively recruiting for volunteers who want to get involved with a powerful movement for advancing towards a no kill society.
Thank you again for your support in 2012, and we look forward to wonderful things to come in 2013!

2 More Weeks Of Giving To Our Animal Angels

Noah's Ark Society's annual Giving Tree will be up for 2 more weeks.  The concept may be familiar--it is the same as an angel tree, but all of our angels have four legs, and an above average amount of body hair.

Some of our angels are foster dogs, some belong to people in our community that need a little extra help this holiday season, and still others are in the shelter waiting for a family or space in rescue so they can take the next step in their journey to forever.

The requests are simple...for most, the #1 request is a forever home, but other requests are tennis balls, alfalfa cubes, dog food, or toys.

Please consider our giving tree this holiday season.  It can make a difference in the life of a dog, cat, rabbit or horse in need.

Donations can be dropped off in Green Hills, Franklin, Brentwood, Lebanon, or Gallatin, just email us at noah@noahsarksociety.org for the exact address, and watch our Facebook page for daily updates of animal angels.  The Giving Tree is located in My Sister's Closet Consignment Boutique at 4012 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN.

Be One of the Cool Kids - Join the Team!

Noah's Ark Society is actively recruiting for volunteers to join the team.  Please write us to learn more.  We are detailing some current opportunities below, but there are a TON of ways to get involved that take anywhere from 1 hour a month to 10 hours a week.

1) Preventatives Coordinator - keep track of medical supplies, supplements and preventatives (flea/tick and heartworm), and mail preventatives to foster homes on the first of each month for the dogs in their care.

2) Home Visit Volunteers - Visit applicants in their homes to help with the adoption process.  We provide the training, you get to meet great like  minded individuals who love animals, and want to give one a home!

3) Reference Checkers - Volunteer from your couch or office!  Reference checkers just need to make phone calls to vet and personal references and the occasional landlord to make sure that the animals in our care are going to great people who will love them for life!

4) Volunteer Coordinator - This is a higher time role, but someone we really need.  If you are really detail oriented, have great communication and computer skills, we need you!  You will help communicate the mission of Noah's Ark Society to new volunteers, recruit volunteers for special events, and make sure that everyone who wants to be part of the Noah's Ark Society team is in the role that is right for them.

This is just a sampling of current volunteer opportunities, but there are more where that came from!  Please write us at noah@noahsarksociety.org if you want to join the team.
